Step 1 — Load ROM

Keeps original ROM size and limits slot rows.
ROM summary: —

Step 2 — Original Font

85 tiles · 4bpp · pulled from the ROM pointer. Use external tools if needed.

Hover tile: —

font.bin = 2720 bytes (85 tiles × 32 bytes, raw 4bpp). Edit in YY-CHR or Tile Molester (4bpp Genesis mode). Extra glyphs are stored separately and uploaded via a secondary VRAM upload; font.bin stays at 85 tiles.

Step 3 — Custom Glyphs

Draw extra accent glyphs (é, ñ, ü, etc.). Left-click = ink, right-click = erase. These are new tiles uploaded from a separate blob into VRAM — they don't touch any existing font tile.

Step 4 — Export patched ROM

Writes: font VRAM base shift + recompressed font (85 tiles) at the font pointer (relocated if needed) · CTE entries adjusted · CTE[92-107] → extra tile indices $05F0-$05FF · renderer patch at $C11E · extra tiles stored in a separate ROM blob and uploaded to VRAM once. Extra tiles land below $C000 to avoid HUD overlap.
